The Lynn News reports, Friday 12 August, that the Transport section of the Borough Council core strategy indicates that Council leaders are to make it a priority to seek the building of a bypass for East Winch; Middleton and West Winch are similarly included.

It is all part of plans to improve West Norfolk's transport network; this is to include improved rail links (with a second railway station for King's Lynn no less) and improvements to key road junctions, including the Hardwick roundabout.

It is also reported that in the Economy section of the core strategy, Council leaders have said that West Norfolk's skills base should be improved to boost the low wage economy of the area.

More land than is actually needed will be set aside for economic development in King's Lynn; This is to fit with the aim to develop the town as an important business centre in the region.

HOUSING PROPOSALS.

Also proposed, as part of the new core strategy, is the provision of 15,500 extra homes in the Borough.

Most will be provided in the main towns, King's Lynn, Downham Market and Hunstanton. 17 percent of the planned number would be built in the larger villages, Brancaster, Snettisham, Terrington St. Clement for example, and the remainder - about 8 percent of the total (some 1280 properties) - would be allocated between 38 smaller villages - East Winch perhaps?

However, the Borough Council Document (see below) shows that only 9 homes are proposed.

The Strategy report also highlights the lack of suitable IT connections and the inconsistent access to quality broadband services.
