Gift Day

THE NEED FOR FUNDS.

Our beautiful church has been standing for 700 years. It must be kept safe and sound for the use of all parishioners at regular services, baptisms, weddings and funerals.

The difficulties of maintaining a medieval building in good repair are great and the costs are high.

For example, extensive repairs to the tower were started in the spring of 2015; other repair work will be carried out on the south porch, guttering; improved heating will be installed in the church.

Much of the cost was paid by the Heritage Lottery Fund, but we are several thousand pounds short of the estimated cost at present.

In addition we have our recurring costs, including an annual 'Parish Share' of the expenses of the diocese which includes the salary of our Vicar.

GIFT DAY contributions go towads the general expenses of the church as described.

With this in mind, GIFT DAY envelopes are delivered to each household in October or November each year inviting contributions.

Please contribute something to help towards the upkeep of this wonderful building.

It helps enormously if taxpayers complete the GIFT AID declaration on the envelope.

This enables us to claim back, from Revenue and Customs, £2.50 for every £10 donated. It really helps to boost the total sum collected.

Any contribution that you are able to make will be gratefully received. Envelopes may be taken to any church service or, alternatively, envelopes will also be accepted at East Winch Post Office at any time.

The Parochial Church Council Annual Accounts show, in detail, where the money goes; the accounts are available at the Annual General Meeting.

Any contributions, however small, are extremely welcome.

MANY THANKS FOR YOUR HELP
