CHURCH FLOODLIGHTING.
Many people may have noticed that the church is no longer floodlit at night, and may have wondered why this is so. The simple fact is that the lighting units have been stolen!
It is believed that the lights were stolen on the 27th. February 2014. The power cables were cut and the units removed from the stands.
Should you know anything that might be relevant to this theft, perhaps you noticed a vehicle parked outside the church, or in the car park, that day, or saw some people in the churchyard, please contact us and we will pass on the information to the PCC and the police.
Update - May 2014. As at May 6th. 2014 it is understood that though the lights are covered by the PCC's insurance policy, a £500 excess applies; that is to say that the PCC has to fund the first £500 of a claim. The PCC has taken no decision about replacing the stolen lights.
