St Cecilia - Churchyard Burial Records

In 1980 the Women's Institute surveyed the Churchyard at St. Cecilia and recorded the details of each of the gravestones. For all their hardwork we are indebted.

See below a link to a file in pdf format; an alphabetical listing by Surname; This listing includes the inscriptions on the gravestones.

Should you find errors in the data please contact us and we shall endeavour to correct our records.

However, it should be noted that the data is incomplete - there are no records of more recent burials included here.

A new transcription of the original data has now been made and is available to view or to download.

Note that in some cases the inscriptions on the memorial stones were not legible and so there are gaps indicated on the record.

The graves were plotted on a plan of the churchyard and the details of each memorial stone were recorded - including the name, date of death, age and the inscription on the stone.
