Libraries

The mobile library
will restart rounds onWednesday 23 December.

Dear Library Customer

We are sorry to let you know that following the recent COVID national lockdown announcement by the Government, all Norfolk libraries will be closed from Thursday 5 November.

This means that some of the information we recently sent to you has had to be reviewed. Please note that:

  • You can continue to reserve items online ready for when libraries re-open
  • You can still take part in online activities and borrow a range of eBooks and eMagazines
  • You will NOT need to renew the items you have borrowed as your loans will be automatically renewed
  • You won’t be charged any overdue charges for the period that libraries are closed.
  • Book-drop boxes are still available at all libraries for you to return any books securely. Please note items returned in this way will not be cleared from your account whilst libraries are closed.

Please pass this information to your friends and family.

If you’d like to stay up to date with all the latest news from Norfolk libraries, please sign up for our newsletter, visit our What’s On in Norfolk Libraries webpage or follow us on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

We hope that you are keeping safe and well. Reading remains a great way to relax and we look forward to welcoming you back to Norfolk’s libraries as soon as we can. Thank you for your on-going support.

Yours sincerely

NORFOLK LIBRARIES - SERVICES UPDATE - OCTOBER 2020

We are pleased to say that Norfolk Libraries have re-opened so we are able to start to return to some of our usual services. We have lots of great reading waiting for you and look forward to welcoming you to the library.

We are making some changes to the way you borrow items from the library. Please note that from 1st November:

  • You will be able to borrow a maximum of 20 books (previously 45).
  • You will need to renew the items you have borrowed on or before the date they are due back. The good news is that each item can renewed up to 12 times if it hasn’t been reserved by someone else.
  • Your loans will no longer be automatically renewed. You won’t be charged any overdue charges for the period that libraries were closed.
  • No need to worry you’ll forget - we’ll be turning our email reminders back on to remind you when your books are due back, and if they become overdue.
  • Overdue charges will be applied to items from 22nd November, so please make sure you return or renew your books.

Please pass this information to your friends and family and try to return excess numbers of books you may still have out on loan.

Book-drop boxes are available at all libraries.

You can find more information about the safety measures we have in place via our website, and a video that we have uploaded to our YouTube channel.
