Gift Day

Gift Day - 2017

Every year, as near as possible to All Saints Day, tucked inside the Parish Magazine, you get an envelope which, if you wish, you can use to make a donation to help the church

Please take any envelopes to the Post Office, bring them to the church on 29th October, or give them to Wendy Smith or Nell Steele.

This year has turned out to be very expensive for the church. Extensive repairs are required to the church wall and in May the lead from the roof was stolen. Funds are still being sought for both of these expensive projects.

We offer our grateful thanks for any contribution that you can make.

All Saints - Gift Day - 2016
raised a total of £855 for church funds.
Grateful thanks are offered to all contributors.

Our beautiful church has been standing for 700 years. It must be kept safe and sound for the use of all parishioners at regular services,  baptisms, weddings and funerals.

The difficulties of maintaining a medieval building in good repair are great and the costs are high.

Extensive repairs to the tower were started in the spring of 2015; other repair work will be carried out on the south porch, guttering; improved heating will be installed in the church.

Much of the cost is being paid by the Heritage Lottery Fund, but we are several thousand pounds short of the estimated cost at present.

In addition we have our recurring costs, including an annual 'Parish Share' of the expenses of the diocese which includes the salary of our Vicar.

So we will be very grateful for anything you can contribute to ensure that the church continues to be a building everyone in the village can be proud of.

The Parochial Church Council Annual Accounts show, in detail, where the money goes; the accounts are available at the Annual General Meeting.

Any contribution, however small, is extremely welcome.

With this in mind, we will deliver to your home a GIFT DAY envelope. Please contribute something to help towards the upkeep of this wonderful building.

It helps enormously if taxpayers complete the GIFT AID declaration on the envelope. This enables us to claim back, from Revenue and Customs, £2.50 for every £10 donated. It really helps to boost the total sum collected.

Any contribution that you are able to make will be gratefully received. Envelopes may be taken to the service on 1st. November or, alternatively, envelopes will also be accepted at East Winch Post Office at any time.
